The Association of Average Adjusters (AAA) celebrates its 150th year since it was established in 1869. During the celebration year the Association hosts a series of seminars and presentations in London and in shipping centres around the world. One of these centres is Limassol/ Cyprus, where a presentation will be held in on Wednesday 22 January 2020.

Whilst the principal aims of the Association remain “the promotion of correct principles in the adjustment of Averages and uniformity of practice amongst Average Adjusters and the maintenance of good professional conduct”, the role of the Average Adjuster has changed considerably over the past 150 years. Burkhard Fischer, a Fellow of the AAA and Ronaldo Drège, an Associate of the AAA, will speak about

“How the Adjuster’s Role has Changed – 150 Years of Evolution”

The role of the Adjuster has developed from an expert in the law and practice of general average and marine insurance into a key player in the claims scene, a trouble shooter, mediator as well as a logistics and IT expert.

In order to maximise the audience, the Association has joined forces with Albatross Adjusters Ltd., Limassol, and has accepted the kind offer of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) to utilise the time and venue of its monthly Members Meeting. The presentation has been scheduled to take place immediately after the CSC Members Meeting on 22 January 2020.

Venue: Amathus Beach Hotel, Aris Room, Limassol, Cyprus

The presentation will be followed by a drinks reception sponsored by the Association of Average Adjusters. Members of the Association and other interested persons who wish to attend the event are kindly requested to contact Burkhard Fischer at
